AI Application
AI based technique can be applied in all projects listed in this report to help in real-time monitoring, diagnosis and notification in a chemical process system. The amine index project represents an example of how AI can be implemented; Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based methods are used to build an expert system to help in constructing a real-time monitoring, diagnosis, and notification system to identify the on-set of amine degradation in the carbon capture plant.
AI can be used to program and train the expert system on the inter-relationships of thermo-physical and chemical properties and amine degradation so as to identify effective diagnostic plans and action needed to be taken by the plant operator when the plant deviates from the set rules.
We are continuing to build on this capacity to complete the amine index project.
