CETRI’s Director Explores Innovations at InnoTech Alberta

Hussameldin Ibrahim, CETRI’s Director, recently had a productive visit to InnoTech Alberta. The visit aimed at discussing collaborative opportunities in research, development, and demonstration projects focused on clean energy and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies.

During his visit, Hussam interacted with several key figures, including Aref Najafi, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Decarbonization Manager, Bonnie Drozdowski, Executive Director – Environment and Bio-Industrial Services, Alvin Heck, Site Supervisor at the Alberta Carbon Conversion Technology Centre (ACCTC https://lnkd.in/eixQ53YD ), and Farbod Sharif, Senior Research Engineer.

Aref provided valuable insights innovative projects and tour of their research facilities at the Calgary Research Park. Later, Alvin offered an in-depth tour of the ACCTC, showcasing their unique facility designed to research, validate, and demonstrate prototypes, ultimately aiming to mitigate risks associated with carbon capture and utilization technologies.

This visit highlighted the potential for meaningful collaboration between CETRI and InnoTech Alberta to advance clean energy solutions. CETRI is enthusiastic about the promising opportunities that this partnership presents for driving innovation in sustainable technologies.
